Vincent Folorunso Adepoju : From Eternity to Eternity

Vincent, you deserve a memorial, not in stone, but in words.

Why do you deserve this memorial?

You deserve it because your influence radiates beyond the time and spaces you occupied.

You were not there the day I took down Charles Connell's  World Famous Rebels from the library you had installed in the living room.

On reading that book, I was no more the same.

I became that person even I do not understand, propelled by forces operating in a zone not human, not aligned to the daily world of coming and going, outside the universe where people go to school, get jobs, earn a living, and conduct the business of living as it is understood among us as we walk the surface of this ball, rotating in space.

You were not there as I became what I now am. When you saw what I had become you did not understand. It made no sense to most.

Someone stops to ask 'why' as others rush to and fro, going nowhere while they think they are going somewhere.

Between all the people asking 'why' there is no answer that satisfies everyone. Confusion reigns.

Le us immerse ourselves in now while looking to tomorrow.

You will bear fruit among people you will never see. That is why you deserve a memorial.
